His interest in the aging brain has lead to studies developing more effective screening tests for the early diagnosis of dementia. His research has led to the publication of over 90 articles and reviews and contributions to numerous textbooks of medicine. He is a consultant to the National Institutes of Health and the American Board of Internal Medicine.
